Weekend at Barrie 5th March - 6th March

Trying to make the most of every outdoor opportunity during winter we booked a half days dog sledding up in Orillia, just over an hours north of Aurora. We stayed in Barrie with Ingrid for the weekend. Unfortunately due to the March melt dog sledding on the Saturday had to be cancelled with the trails being too dangerous and slippery for the dogs. Some days with all the snow melting I have felt like I have been walking around in one big slushie!  Well to make the most of our free day we hit the shopping mall in Barrie!

Saturday night was of course spent out to dinner at a pub, we headed home during a massive dump of snow - which was really exciting!  We were pretty much snowed in by Sunday morning and making the most of the perfect conditions we hit the slopes!  Skiing for the day at Snow Valley!  With another hours lesson I am becoming quite good (even if I do say so myself) and thoroughly enjoy swooshing down the slopes. Check out the photos to see why - just beautiful!

Snowed in Sunday morning - Ingrid's car!

Clearing all the snow off the car!

The snow blower had to come out to clear the driveway!

Swooshing down the slopes!

So hard having to ski down these slopes!

The ski run - so beautiful

More stylish swooshing :-)

WOW! Just a fantastic day!
