I started off summer holidays with a Canada Day (July 1st) celebration weekend up north in beautiful Muskoka Country. Emma and I visited another Australian on exchange, Bruce Frost in Gravenhurst (we missed you Julie :-).
And what a gorgeous weekend it turned out to be, the weather was so warm and the fun and friendship made for the perfect start to summer!
We spent a day wandering around Gravenhurst Wharf and cruising Lake Muskoka on the steam ship 'The Segwun'. Emma and I became honorary Canadians, all dressed up while watching the fireworks at Bracebridge. We just didn't realise that although in Australia we wear our green & gold and tattoos with much pride on our national day ... not so much in Canada :-) We certainly stood out and had a blast!
We also took a drive around Lake Muskoka visiting all the quaint little towns surrounding the lake! We thank Bruce for his wonderful hospitality and look forward to future visits when Julie gets back :-)
What a fantastic start to summer :-)
